*Braapp!* — Real rap fans g’on remember this one 😉 — Swagga Right Entertainment presents today’s throwback of the day titled “Edge.” A city-slick, hard-hitting record sung by none other than rap emcee, Shyne. This track was introduced to the world off the ‘Godfather Buried Alive’ album, released in 2004.
Shyne was born in Belize on November 8th, 1979. Fate brought him (as a child) to live with his mother in Brooklyn, New York where he later started his music career, with Bad Boy Records. On the verge of the release to his debut album, he was involved in a nightclub shooting which cost him a 10 year prison sentence. Despite the situation Shyne beat all odds and still completed the album, ‘Godfather Buried Alive’ while incarcerated.
In 2006, Shyne aka Jamal Micheal Barrow changed his name to Moses Micheal Levi Brown. Why? Because he became observant, practicing Orthodox Judaism and began to embrace his Hebrew roots. FUN FACT: Did you know that Shyne’s father is an attorney and politician Dean Barrow, Prime Minister of Belize since 2008?
