*big sigh of relief*… Okay, cool. Now it all makes sense! — Just the other day, Romeich Entertainment was caught up in a controversy regarding the official audio to “Loodi”. This song broke the internet back in October 2016, starring breakthrough artiste, Shenseea featuring Vybz Kartel. The single was recorded in the LOODI RIDDM, produced by So Unique Records.
The world stopped as the official solo release to the song was uploaded on Kartel’s Youtube channel stating, “My song was never a collaboration!” Onstage TV jumped on board to investigate. They paid a visit to see Romeich and Shenseea to discuss the situation. Romeich says that the song was given to him by a friend of Elvis from So Unique Records. The idea was to have a possible female collaboration or feature to Vybz Kartel’s song, “Loodi.” He later reached out to Elvis directly and sent his collab version of “Loodi” featuring Shenseea. Elvis replied and requested Shenseea to re-write the verses in a female fashion, using as much as the original lyrics as possible. Romeich also explains to Onstage that he’s never took credit for the lyrics to the song. He was also told to leave the chorus with Kartel alone.
Shenseea is on the come up! From singer to deejay, “it’s all about marketing”. This beautiful young artiste has become the fastest most popular recording star from Jamaica and the fans couldn’t agree more. Her career is less than a year old and she has reached over 5 million hits for her song, “Loodi” featuring Vybz Kartel. Winford Williams from Onstage sat down with the talented superstar for an exclusive interview.
Shenseea was first discovered as a singer covering Whitney Houston’s classics. The church fell in love with her instantaneously which landed her a spot in the choir. In high school, things started to change as Shenseea started to rap/deejay and become a promo-girl. After becoming pregnant and having her son, Shenseea started to take her career more seriously. While on maternity leave, she pushed her music on WhatsApp & Instagram. Eventually her hard work paid off as she ended up collaborating with a manager. Now, she’s known as the hottest break-though dancehall artiste for 2016.
